painting_1About my paintings
All my paintings are of the area in which I love to live, the beautiful East Coast of Yorkshire. I use wobbly lines and jewel like colours to create my whimsical versions of the towns and villages along the coast.

I love to look at the buildings around me and use their amazing features in a distorted fashion. They are all painted in acrylics and mounted in light oak finish box frames. The overall size is 16 by 20 inches.

I do hope you enjoy looking at my pictures as much as I have enjoyed painting them.

I started painting after retiring from primary teaching. Having painted with children in the classroom for thirty years I was at last able to have the time to develop my own painting skills.
I am self-taught but passionate about my painting, spending much of my time working with my brushes.

I started selling my pictures at local village shows and realized that when people saw my work they usually started to smile at the affectionate look I had taken at our beautiful surrounding locality. I think we all need a smile sometimes in this age of austerity.
